Excellent casual poke can be found at the Austin branch of the Venice Beach, California-based Hawaiian dish restaurant. The small or large bowls come packed with marinated raw fish (ahi tuna, shiso salmon), rice, vegetables, and more. Plus there’s wine, beer, and acai bowls. To-go orders can be placed online; there are Door Dash deliveries; there are outdoor tables available.

The Aloha version slicks sushi-grade fish (we are partial to the hamachi) with sesame oil and light soy sauce for an umami-packed bite brightened with rice wine vinegar and chili flakes, the meaty cubes of fish contrasted with the snap and pop of onions and sesame seeds.
