Poke'-Poke' was featured on Socal TWC's brand new show "Let's Eat" with Brian Kushida. Brian did an excellent job grabbing the Poke'-Poke' story and unique approach to our fresh made to order poke'!
We love bloggers.. Thanks Lets Om Nom!
International Food review site checks out Poke-Poke.... apparently they liked it :)
Every year we head back to Hawaii to eat at new Poke places (there's a LOT popping up in HI) and see our close friends out there.. This year we kept it really simple, stayed in our friend's Jungle house and hung on the East side and N. Shore mostly.
Hey All,
We're going to be shutting down the Poke-Poke on Turkey Day to give our amazing Poke-Masters some much needed time off.
We'll be closed thanks Giving day, Thursday November 24th
We really are thankfull for all of our new Poke-Poke friends and the welcome you've given us this past year.
We'll be open again Friday :)
Mahalos!
Poke-Poke (Trish and Jason)
We're going "Modular" to make your ordering experience a lil bit MO BETTAH!
We're looking to open Poke-Poke #2 and want help from a talented restaurant Real Estate hustler. We're looking literally in all of LA, South Bay and the West Side. Contact us if you know someone. Referrals to a good person get you invited to the VIP Grand Opening of #2 (and our 1 year party coming in November)

It's been an epic summer! Poke-Poke had a fantastic high season thanks to our discerning, taste-proven poke lovers!
Some news, we had a few more mentions later in the summer, AND we are officially looking for Poke-Poke #2, so stay tuned for news of a more somewhat civilized location..with an indoor area..maybe ;)

We got mentioned in a pretty major publication recently, the one and only Huffington Post did a brief write up on our food..we love Ariana, really. Thank you
Poke-Poke: Eat like a surfer -- eat poke. Poke (pronounced "poki"), is a Hawaii-born way of preparing and eating tuna tartare. At Poke-Poke, cubed ahi is marinated to-order with shoyu, seasame oil and seeds, and tossed with green and white onions -- get it with a bed of greens and/or rice (or not). A Veggie Poke is also available, and naturally, it would include kale, plus, avocado, macadamia nuts and brown rice. Poke is typically a take-away meal, something light to eat while poised against your surfboard that’s expertly propped in the sand. But we imagine the brawny fellas at Muscle Beach (just yards away) eat poke too -- but, like, six helpings at a time.Poke-Poke, 1827 Ocean Front Walk, at 19th Avenue (424-228-5132 or poke-poke.com)
Also, in the spirit of Venice and in Celebration of one of our favorite festivals, the Abbot Kinney fest, we made some hand made, stencil design t-shirts we'll be giving away to poke lovers. Check out the rest of the gallery and find out how to get one on our FB!!!
We do it every Art Crawl, and it gets more awesome every time! With photo's by Venice Beach legend RayRae, and art from brilliant original Joel Harris and Yoshi's cool photo/paint styles, Poke-Poke has one of the coolest collections of artists for the art Crawl. Venice Paparazzi always covers the Art Crawl and hit Poke-Poke first this time around taking some cool pics and interviewing the artists.

Our next big poke tasting was one of our first poke influences, Tamura's in Kaimuki. We went crazy chowing on Cado Poke (Avacado in HI poke is new), tako varieties, chili pepper ahi poke and delicious shoyu varieties.
Jalepeno, Black Pepper Poke.
Kimchi Tako..Delicios
Tamura's Sauce/Shoyu. A Little Sauce heavy for our taste, but awesome none the less.
Look at that giant, crunchy Limu. We NEED to get a source..it's amazing.
Here's the rest of the trip..We went to one of our Hawaiian friends' wedding which was a gorgeous Hawaiian ceremony on the water south of Kaaawa. Enjoy this slide show!
Hawaii is always just a crazy beautiful experience. The culture, feeling and food of Hawaii is a major inspiration behind Poke-Poke. We just got back from 5 days of poke eating, surfing and having an awesome time with our Hawaiian friends.
1. Kahuku Superette: The Kahuku Superette is famous on the North Shore for their poke. This spot was one of the first spots to offer rice AND we're pretty sure it's the only spot that makes you simply hand the clerk the poke you want.
Below is some Tako, Shoyu Poke, and Clean Limu Poke..DELICIOUS. Learned a lot from the Shoyu here that had ginger and maybe garlic in it as well as chili oil.
Trish getting into our first poke foray for Hawaii 2011 trip!
You got to love the culture down here!
They didn't do an actual write up, but how can you resist the Poke once you know where it is? Anyway..it's cool they took note of our little corner of the Boardwalk as a fast food go-to
