The Poke-Poke Difference

All of our poke starts with fish, then we hit it with shoyu, (soy sauce) sesame oil, onion, sesame seeds and then various select ingredients like avocado or ginger. The dish you receive will resemble traditional Hawaiian poke which is 100% fish focused.  No Toppers, crunchers or pre-made “poke sauce”.

We realize ‘modern poke’ is now associated with some sort of assembly line with a LOT of items.. heck, Flaming hot Cheetos is a regular at these places. At Poke-Poke, we specialize in a more authentic poke experience. We guarantee you won’t be shipped down an assembly line at Poke-Poke.

Our Story

Poke-Poke started in a food window on the Venice Beach Boardwalk in 2010. Husband and wife team, Jason McVearry and Trisha Fortuna developed the unique made-to-order style of poke reflective of traditional Hawaiian poke as Jason experienced during his days living on Oahu. Since opening Poke-Poke in 2010, poke has become a major food trend infiltrating every major city from coast to coast. Based in Austin now, Poke-Poke is still 100% family owned and operated by Jason McVearry, Trisha Fortuna and of course our newest family owner-member, Trevlyn McVearry, who is in charge of Acai Bowl Tasting.
